Wheat consumption has been linked to no less than 205 health conditions and ailments. Monsanto’s GMO corn has been at the center of controversy following a shocking study which showed a worrying link between it and cancerous tumors. In the study by a group of French scientists at the University of Caen in France, research scientists discovered that GMO corn harvested by Monsanto biotechnical company may lead to the growth of cancerous tumors and subsequent premature death. High blood sugar can have adverse effects on the brain but that does not apply to excessively high levels only, even if the levels are slightly above normal, the results can be the same. This information is based on a study recently conducted where people were not diagnosed as diabetics or pre-diabetics but with blood sugar levels on the upper end of normal range. The tests concluded that these people were more prone to shrinkage of certain areas of the brain in comparison to people whose levels were lower. With all the talk of food additives in the news these days, we’ve all become accustomed to reading the labels on the food products that we buy. However, if you thought that it was only pre-packaged meals and snack foods that contain these pesky artificial ingredients, think again. A study by the United States Food and Drug Administration found that in excess of 3,000 colors, flavorings and preservatives are added to food products in the country. Included in that list, are three products traditionally thought to be healthy due to their supposed one-ingredient list, on closer inspection, they are actually contain food additives. Contradicting recent studies that showed multivitamin use had little effect upon chronic disease, Harvard researchers have found that multivitamin use over a long period reduces the incidence of many cancers along with mortality.
The researchers conducted a study of male doctors called the Physicians’ Health Study II Randomized Controlled Trial. The study began in 1997 and included 14,641 physicians from the United States. They were 50 years or older at the beginning of the study, and the average age was 64 years old. The study group also included 1,312 men who had previously contracted cancer. The study continued through June 1, 2011. The study was randomized, double-blinded, and placebo-controlled. Continue reading
